Environmental Planning and Air Pollution Control

Planning based on sustainability enables us to identify environmental and use-related requirements at an early stage and to indicate options for action. Cost and benefit are kept in an appropriate ratio.

We provide support for infrastructure projects and energy, raw materials processing and waste management plants from the concept through to the implementation phase. We give priority to sustainable construction. Extensive experience enables us to guide clients efficiently through spatial and environmental planning approval processes (e.g. Environmental Impact Assessments). We also prepare environmental studies and develop environmental protection measures, giving high priority to impact, cost and efficiency analyses.

We work in the following areas:

Air pollution control/odours

  • Planning of clean air and odour minimisation measures
  • Emission and immission prognoses (atmospheric dispersion modelling)

Project assessment

  • Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) at project or structure plan level
  • Strategic environmental assessments (SEA)
  • Spatial planning reports as per Art. 47 of the Spatial Planning Ordinance (RPV)
  • Sustainability assessments at project, local plan or structure plan level

Noise abatement

  • Noise register, noise calculations and reports (Cadna/A calculation model)
  • Dimensioning and design of noise protection measures

Non-ionising radiation

  • Assessment of non-ionising radiation from high-voltage lines, railway overhead contact lines and mobile telecommunications networks
  • Support in consent procedures

Existing contamination

  • Handling existing contamination cases from A to Z
  • Building checks for redevelopment and dismantling projects
  • Advice for dismantling, change of use, recultivation, environmental due diligence

Soil protection

  • Planning and engineering of soil protection measures on construction sites
  • Pedological support for construction projects

Nature and landscape

  • Landscape conservation support plans
  • Revitalisation measures and ecological improvements, including compensatory and replacement measures

Environmental support for construction

  • Planning, engineering and execution of on-site measures

Material flow analyses and ecological balance sheets

  • Material flow analyses
  • Ecological balance sheets (life-cycle analyses, LCA), eco-indicator and CML methods
