Energy policy

With its Energy Strategy 2050, Switzerland has set itself the goal of gradually withdrawing from nuclear energy and consuming less energy generated with fossil fuels. We provide support on the municipal, cantonal and national levels in terms of the development and evaluation of political measures.

Establishing the groundwork: Our aim is to gain a thorough understanding of the market, and the behavior of consumers and business stakeholders. Such an understanding enables us to provide a sound basis for ensuring that political measures and market interventions are applied appropriately and are sustainably effective. The scope of our services includes:

• Analyzes (initial situation, market, prices, quality, approval procedures, etc.)
• Rebound effects: how they arise and how they are contained
• Technological impact assessments
• Consumer behavior and incentive systems

Designing measures: With the help of participative processes in municipalities and cantons we develop energy policy objectives and identify appropriate actions and measures in relation to these objectives. At cantonal and national level, we also provide support when it comes to designing and adapting individual measures, whether in the building, mobility or industrial sectors.

Evaluation of measures: In our interdisciplinary teams we evaluate political measures both before and after their implementation. Our services include:
