Tendering for Spring Water Treatment Plant Lucerne, Switzerland

energie wasser luzern (ewl) plans to build a new spring water water treatment plant. EBP supports ewl with the tendering of the design and implementation consultancy.

The spring water from Mount Pilatus is currently disinfected by adding chlorine dioxide and stored in the reservoir Sonnenberg of 8’000 m³ before being fed into the drinking water network of Lucerne. Due to temporary increased turbidity levels, significant amounts of spring water presently have to be rejected. ewl is thus planning to build a state-of-the-art spring water treatment plant with a ca-pacity of about 28’000 m³/d and to re-construct the reservoir Sonnenberg. The treatment plant shall consist of a multi-barrier system with membrane filtration ensuring highest drinking water quality standards even at increased turbidity levels.

EBP supports ewl with the carrying out the two-stage tendering process for the design consultancy. This includes the elaboration of a detailed tendering concept, the preparation of the tender documents as well as conducting the tendering and tender evaluation.
