Losinger Marazzi AG develops new urban district on the site of the former Hero facility in Lenzburg. EBP engaged to plan the conversion and the earthquake reinforcement measures for the existing building at Construction Site D.
Lenzburg-based food manufacturer, Hero, decided for strategic reasons to leave its old production site next door to the railway station in Lenzburg. The site was then bought by EBM (Elektra Birseck Münchenstein) in 2008. In cooperation with the landowner and the City of Lenzburg, Losinger Marazzi AG is currently developing the industrial site into a new urban district.
EBP has been contracted to plan the conversion process for Construction Site D, on which an existing building is to be renovated according to plans drawn up by Züst Gübeli Gambetti Architecture and City Development. The conversion work requires numerous modifications of the building's load bearing structure, including the addition of a storey, the introduction of earthquake reinforcement measures, the carrying out of floor and wall renovations in core areas and near the entrances, and punching shear reinforcement of the floors. Furthermore, the basement will be expanded through the addition of an energy control centre and an underground car park.
