Project

Laboratory Renovation and Conversion at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ)

EBP has been commissioned by University Hospital Zurich to play the role of a general planner responsible for the design and execution of a laboratory renovation and conversion on the premises of the University Hospital.

In order to comply with new cantonal building insurance specifications, the University Hospital Zurich plans to relocate the current occupants of its NUK Tracts 1+2 to space that is available on Floor C of the Laboratory Tract by the end of 2016. This relocation will require a renovation of the laboratory to meet the needs of the hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department, as well as appropriate structural measures to provide for corresponding office space. The measures are geared to ensure the full operation of the facilities in the existing building for the next ten to fifteen years.

EBP has been commissioned by University Hospital Zurich to play the role of a general planner responsible for architectural design, construction project management, HVAC systems, plumbing systems and fire-safety systems in the context of a laboratory renovation and conversion project. The laboratory space that is to become available on Floor C of the Laboratory Tract is to be converted to provide office space, and an existing laboratory is to be renovated with an eye to compliance with the latest standards. The conversion will require corresponding structural design measures that will then be implemented by the general planner team.
