Report on climate-related adaptations in the Canton of Graubünden

Adapting to climate change will not happen overnight. The Canton of Graubünden reports regularly on its official activities and thus detects risks at an early stage. EBP supports the canton in drawing up its Report.

The climate is changing. Adaptation to changing climatic conditions is being debated worldwide – and is raising numerous issues. These can only be tackled locally, with the inclusion of all those involved. The Canton of Graubünden has a proactive approach to the challenges associated with climate change.

As a mountain region, the Canton of Graubünden is faced with a number of challenges, with several sectors affected by global warming – tourism, health and energy production, for example. Climate-related adaptation means minimising risks with targeted, cost-efficient measures.

The Department for Nature and the Environment has been instructed by the Federal government to report periodically on the official activities in the area of climate change. EBP is providing support to the Department for the coordination and drafting of the Climate Report 2014. This shows the climate-related activities and draws conclusions for the coming implementation of the action plan in connection with the Federal adaptation strategy.
