Site evaluation for the relocation of the administrative offices of the Canton of Schwyz

The government of the Canton of Schwyz is planning to relocate its administrative offices to a common central location. EBP is helping the canton to evaluate the various possible sites and to draft all of the process-related documents to ensure a basis for decisions by the cantonal representatives.

The Canton of Schwyz is planning to relocate its administrative offices to a common central location and to thereby optimize its internal organizational and operational processes. One central task in the project is to carefully consider the interests of the various stakeholders and to ensure a sound and transparent decision-making procedure. Altogether nine different site scenarios are to be evaluated and compared.

A detailed conditions and impact analysis is to be carried out in consultation with the responsible cantonal officials to establish the knowledge base that will be necessary to define the criteria that are to be used in the context of evaluating and comparing the various scenarios and to assign these criteria to relevant impact dimensions. The centralized locations are to be examined with an eye to feasibility and cost effectiveness. Market analyses are also to be carried out for the various regional locations to arrive at a reliable estimate of the economic impact.

The scenarios are to be evaluated and compared on the basis of the four impact dimensions, including customer orientation, internal organization, external effects and transformation costs. Using these findings as a basis, a transparent evaluation and recommendation are to be submitted to give the cantonal representatives an objective and sustainable rationale for their decisions.
