Development of the Wetzikon railway centre

EBP is developing a design plan with an environmental impact report based on the revised version of the winning project from the study contract and the various user needs which have been identified.

A new railway centre is to be developed in Wetzikon with a surface area of 32,000m2, spread over three adjacent sites – West, Middle and East. The aim is to create a functional public transport hub with an expanded bus station, with the whole station environment being integrated into the vision. In addition, the provision of offices and apartments with optimum public transport links is envisaged. Increased commercial space with more shops and restaurants will further enhance the existing centre.

A study contract was awarded for the development of the railway centre in Wetzikon. Building on the foundations of the revised winning project from the initial study contract as well as the identified user needs, a design plan and associated environmental impact report is to be developed. The study plan draft is to be developed in close collaboration with the users and property owners to ensure that the various stakeholders’ needs are met.

EBP is responsible for developing a basis for the design plan. The scope of this assignment includes coordinating the interests of the various property owners, operators and users.
