EBP helps SBB Real Estate realise new residential/commercial buildings at the Letzibach site in Altstetten.
SBB Real Estate began the development of the Letzibach C site near the Altstetten Railway Station in 2009 with an architectural design competition. Six combined residential/commercial buildings of up to 50 metres in height were then designed by an architectural and engineering services provider and built by a general contractor on the 14,700-square-metre site between the SBB rail yard and Hohlstrasse. The ground floor of the buildings encompasses around 5,000 square metres of useable floor space for retail shops, restaurants and other commercial services. The upper floors encompass 185 rental apartments – including 40 different apartment types – distributed over around 17,000 square metres of rental space.
The project setting involves a complex traffic situation including the removal of an auxiliary track, the adaptation of a connecting track, temporary overpasses, new overpass construction and a link to the nearby network of public and private streets.
As the project manager for the construction of the buildings, we provided consulting services to the developer and coordinated and oversaw the work of the architectural and engineering services provider and the general contractor with respect to project goals, responsibilities, results, PQM, scheduling, quality and costs.
