Project

Removing barriers to the circular economy

Despite the best of intentions, much potential for achieving greater energy and resource efficiency, such as by applying the principles of circular economy, has gone untapped. Working on behalf of the Swiss government, we conducted a study of the various barriers to greater energy and resource efficiency and used our findings to identify promising approaches that could be taken in relevant industries and consumer segments. To fulfill our main objective of pointing the way toward a more sustainable future, we then drafted various policy recommendations relating to these industries and segments.

Our services

  • Identification of relevant industries and consumer segments with recommended courses of action
  • Analysis of the barriers to greater efficiency from the perspective of industries and end consumers
  • Drafting of policy recommendations for removing efficiency barriers along the entire value chain
  • Demonstration of ways in which carbon-neutrality and circular-economy goals can be reached in the construction and housing market
