A successful transition to a sustainable form of energy supply and use in Switzerland will depend on careful planning on the part of lawmakers as well as industry leaders. Innovative ways of meeting our transportation needs can be expected to play a key role in this regard given the fact that transportation accounts for 40% of Switzerland’s CO2 emissions. Moreover, a large percentage of the energy needed for public transportation is supplied by nuclear power plants.
