Federal Government Resource Management (ResMaB)

If a disaster or emergency occurs in Switzerland, the necessary equipment, staff and know-how must be brought in as quickly as possible to where they are most needed. EBP supported representatives of the Federal Government in developing this procedure for the distribution of resources.

If a disaster or emergency occurs in Switzerland that demands too much of local organisations, resources such as staff, equipment and specialist knowledge, from both home and abroad, must be brought in as smoothly and quickly as possible to the places where they are most needed.

EBP supported the Federal Government in the development of a process of this kind. Together with representatives of the Federal Office for Civil Protection, the senior staff of the army, the cantons and the Swiss railway company, we developed a procedure that enables requests from within Switzerland and aid from home and abroad to be coordinated.

The procedure was tested as part of the trinational “SEISMO 12” earthquake drill. The positive results have formed the basis for further development, so that the “Federal Government Resource Management” project will soon be fully operational. EBP is also involved in this work.
