Risk analysis for the Canton of Thurgau

The government of Thurgau instructed the Office for Civil Protection and the Army in November 2011 with the identification of the disasters and crises relevant to the Canton of Thurgau as part of a risk analysis.

In an initial stage the specialist department for civil protection, together with the canton’s top management, analysed the risks relevant to Thurgau. This gave rise to a list totalling 21 risks in the areas of natural disasters, technical and social risks.

EBP supported the specialist department in carrying out the risk analysis, by moderating workshops for the specialist staff to estimate the risks posed by the relevant disasters and crises and supporting the specialist department in answering questions on the content.
